Artwork for Otra Vez I & II

We just ordered our Otra Vez I & II physical albums!
In 2-3 short weeks, CD Baby will deliver the finished product right to our door, ready for some pretty cool listening.

We decided to release this album as a combined CD, featuring Sidewatcher's first two singles Otra Vez I and Otra Vez II. Otra Vez I features "Keys To Your Heart" as Side A and "I Really Like You" as Side B. Otra Vez II features "Hey You" as Side A and "Have Love Will Travel" as Side B.

Just a reminder, CDs only have one side. So don't actually flip it.

While working on different concepts of the album art, I finally decided on the theme of yellow and black. I primarily used Adobe Illustrator in designing the artwork. I like using Adobe Illustrator because it allows easy-to-learn (for the most part) manipulation of vector drawings. The final album art for Otra Vez I & II is as follows...

The image below is the front cover of our album and 4 page booklet. I wanted Otra Vez I & II to be very sleek and clean cut, while still incorporating the familiar Otra Vez photograph.

This is the back of our 4 page booklet, nice and simple with the album title centered.

These are pages 2 and 3 of the booklet. On the left page are the lyrics to "I Really Like You" and on the right hand page are the lyrics to "Hey You". I designed this insert to match my Sidewatcher Zine Vol 1, which you can view here. To create these pages I used a bunch of old photos, a scanner, paper, and some scissors. The collage was all pieced together by hand.

This is our disc art for the CD-R with silk screen printing. I wanted the feel of vinyl, while still preserving a streamlined vibe. Pretty awesome, right?

This is the tray card, or the back of the album. The tray card includes the track listing, album credits, and UPC code.

I am very happy with how the album art turned out!

As soon as the CDs arrive I will begin sending them out to primarily non-commercial college radio stations across the country, jewel case and all. I have an entire list of 50+ stations, which means I'm going to start handwriting the labels right away.

Old-school hard work and promotion. You gotta love it.

If you just can't wait for a physical copy, be sure to keep jamming to both Otra Vez I & Otra Vez II digitally on our bandcamp.
