The Silver Saucer Productions animated logo was created in Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 and Adobe After Effects CC 2017.
All of the assets were drawn in Photoshop. To create each element, I used the master version of the original Silver Saucer Productions logo and then used layers to roughly trace over the master. This gave three options of variance within each element, helping to create the "wiggle" effect that is continuous throughout the entire animation.
I knew that I wanted to have the cow eating grass, raise its head, and then float into the flying saucer's light beam. Planning the logo's animation was a bit complicated, since I did not know how many positions to draw the motion of the cow lifting its head in and how many frames the movement would take. I eventually settled on three head positions over a span of three frames, since this gave the smoothest, yet still "wiggly" effect that I desired.
For the flying saucer's light beam, I used masking within After Effects to simulate the beam's extension. While masking the beam, I also masked two separate versions of the cow to change color as it is "sucked up" by the saucer. The cow begins as white against a black background until the beam descends. Then, the cow's color changes to black against the green beam background.
Finally, I used simple position keyframes to make the cow float. The sound for the animated logo is a version of the sound Dylan created for the original Silver Saucer Productions logo. I added a cow "moo" at the end to conclude the animated version.
